Texas Pharmacy Jurisprudence in Eight Areas

A study-and-test hybrid for the Texas MPJE. Each area opens with a short reading and a memory hook, then puts three questions to you under exam conditions. The clock runs while you answer and pauses while you read, so you can study and rehearse the pressure in the same sitting.

All 24 items are scored, in five formats: single best answer, select all that apply, label identification, category sorting, and sequencing. The answer and the rule behind it appear as soon as you submit. Questions draw on both Texas law — the Pharmacy Act, TSBP rules in 22 TAC, and the Texas Controlled Substances Act — and the federal law the MPJE tests alongside it.

Overview

Pharmacy students commonly seek licensure in multiple jurisdictions, each with its own jurisprudence exam content. AR+D built a shared module format for a pharmacy school's licensure and continuing-education platform, then populated it state by state. This page showcases the Texas installment: an interactive short course pairing a short reading and memory hook with three scored questions for each of the eight law areas the Texas MPJE covers, delivered across five question formats — single best answer, select-all, label identification, category sorting, and sequencing — under a running exam clock.

The Challenge

Pharmacy licensure candidates need more than a textbook or flashcard deck — they need repeated exposure to the specific numbers and rules each state layers on top of federal law, tested under realistic time pressure, with immediate feedback on why an answer is right or wrong. Because students often sit for licensure in several states, the school needed one consistent module format it could populate per jurisdiction, rather than a separate content pipeline or authoring tool for each state.

Our Approach

We built a single study-and-test format — a short reading and memory hook, then scored questions across five formats, with an exam clock that runs during questions and pauses during study reading — and populated it with each state's own statute and board-rule content. The Texas installment draws on the Texas Pharmacy Act, TSBP rule, and Texas Controlled Substances Act across eight law areas and 24 scored items. Every item surfaces its answer, the underlying rule, and its statutory citation immediately on submission, and a closing score report breaks performance down by law area and resurfaces every missed item for review.
